We visited Grapevine for dinner on a Wednesday evening around 5:00 pm. When we arrived, the hostess asked if we had a reservation, which we didn't. However, he was able to seat us right away. Our server, Heidi, was extremely attentive and took great care of us throughout our meal. To start, we tried the watermelon cucumber martini and lemon berry martini - both were delicious and the perfect refreshments for a summer evening. We also had the sliced portobello mushroom caps with a garlic aioli dipping sauce that was out of this world delicious. For our entrees, I ordered the ribeye steak which was cooked to a juicy medium with a nicely charred exterior. The flavor of the beef really came through without any overpowering sauces or seasonings. My date had the pork steak, which was also delicious. The rough mashed potatoes were a favorite side of mine. The green beans were a touch overcooked for my taste but still very flavorful. We shared a slice of the lemon icebox pie for dessert, which was light and creamy. The atmosphere at Grapevine was upscale and romantic - I noticed most other diners dressed nicely as well. They also have a beautiful outdoor courtyard in back if dining al fresco is something you would like for a nice fall evening. Recommended.

Our waitress was Heidi, she was great! Attentative, but also didn’t try to out-shine the food or atmosphere. Liked her a lot. There were three of us, I had the pork tenderloin “ribeye” (more on this later), and my son and my aunt had the crab-stuffed eggplant. I tasted their eggplant, it was pretty incredible! The pork I ordered comes with a choice a few different sauce toppings, I chose the blackberry jam which was really VERY good!! We shared the bread pudding. The pudding itself was just average. The white chocolate sauce was delicious. About the menu description for the pork: There is no way a pork tenderloin could ever be compared to a ribeye, they’re from a different part of the animal. The ribeye comes from one side of the rib, the tenderloin from the other. If you want to compare it to a beef-steak, call it a filet mignon, not ribeye, because that’s what it is. Y’all should fix that.

A definite gem in the town of Donaldsonville. The atmosphere is upbeat with the live music but not overbearing. Wait staff was wonderful. The crab cakes as an appetizer was one of the freshest tasting crab cakes I've ever eaten in my life. The crab meat au gratin is absolutely worth the extra cost to add with the crab cakes. The food is not over seasoned so you can actually taste the different flavors of the authentic Cajun cooking. Although some may seem the the food takes a little while longer to come out, the quantity and quality of the food is well worth the wait.

Went today and had Ty as our server and it was a phenomenal experience. He had great input on the menu and the (I’m assuming) back waitress, whose name I unfortunately did not get, was extremely helpful and on top of everything. She was amazingly personable and funny.

The Grapevine was well worth the drive. My friends and I shared several appetizers and they were all great. The Dried green tomatoes were delicious. The Spicy Pecan Shrimp were our favorite appetizer of the ones we tried. The gumbo was a bit thicker than what I’m used to but it had a great flavor. The cheesecake topped with Pecan Praline Sauce was so delicious and the best dessert I’ve had in a long time. Definitely worth the drive/trip to Grapevine; we will be back to visit soon and try more dishes!

We ate here yesterday before visiting oak alley plantation. Rakesha G was our server and she was great! Usually when I order a nut crusted fish-whether it's almond or pecan, it's never that great..the crust is always falling off or the flavor of the nut doesnt come through, but this pecan encrusted red fish was probably the best I've ever had! The batter is thicker, but I think that's needed. And you can really taste the pecan throughout. My husband ordered the fried chicken breast with the crawfish etouffee and he said it was really good as well. We had the crawfish cornbread as a starter and it was tasty and a good sized portion. Overall, good southern type dishes. And the local artwork displayed throughout the restaurant was a nice touch.
